Plantation Estates recorder class

I have been enjoying teaching a recorder class at Plantation Estates in Matthews, NC for a little over a year and the group is doing great!  We have 10 folks counting me with two tenors, two altos and five sopranos.  I have arranged some songs for the group and we also play some arrangements from Eleanor McNair (see previous post).  Below are several recordings of our group playing. We are missing several folks on these recordings, so I will do some more when everyone is there.

The Ash Grove traditional Welsh, arranged by Carol Raedy

Morning Has Broken words by Eleanor Farjeon, traditional melody, arranged by Carol Raedy

Eleanor's recorder group

I have the pleasure of playing music every Friday with Eleanor McNair and the recorder group that she started over 10 years ago.  Eleanor arranges many of the songs that we play.  I love that we play so many different kinds of songs.  The latest song is Arkansas Traveler numbered 363 in our books.  I have started recording some of the pieces that we play that are Eleanor's (and our) favorites.

For the Beauty of the Earth medley arranged by Eleanor with a little help from her son David

Largo by Handel  arranged by Eleanor - We always end with this each week.

Walking at Night  Czech Folk Song - arranged by Eleanor

Bless Now, O God, the Journey Swedish Folk Song - arranged by Eleanor
